You can’t have this heart to break

I simply won’t allow it.

There are very few people currently in my life allowed over the walls I’ve constructed around my heart. For me the reason is simple, a long time ago I became so frightened about my heart being broken I made the decision to minimize the risk of it ever happening again. This way, I’d tell myself, if someone wrongs me and there was no repairing the relationship I could walk away…
